Blue background means your MK nav unit is not working (it doesn't render the menus and it reverts to the blue-ish theme). And yeah, since the MK is gone, there is no nav capability either.
The disk can be pulled out with a needle through the tiny hole near the eject button. Similar to any other CD/DVD/etc drives. If the needle hole is missing, you will have to take the front plastic face off. Unless its bricked, disconnect the two brackets behind the MK (maroon and blue) and reconnect them back on. |

That's not the way you manually remove a disk from a MK nav. It is nothing like a normal CD player. There are a couple of ways to get a disk out so do a search on this forum. If those fail you will need to do the manual way which is also shown in pictures on this forum and bimmerboard nav forum also. I have done it several times. If your search doesn't work here or on BB site let me know and I will search for the url for you when I am more awake.
Found it. There is a small eject motor at the rear right. Loosen the screw and swing the motor to the side and rotate the white plastic gear. I use the tip of my little finger to rotate the gear. http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...ion-drive.html Last edited by Roy in GA; 09-18-2011 at 02:16 AM. |

I assume you have a MKIV??? Do you? I would get a good Ver.32 disk and try to reload it. We can get them here through the dealer for about $10. The part number has been posted here before. Do a search. Be careful disconnecting power if you have a MKIII instead of a MKIV. The MKIV says DVD on the front. Disk number in this link.
I don't know but if you think it may be your disk then buy an original Last edited by Roy in GA; 09-18-2011 at 11:56 PM. |
