NavTweak: need advice to change 'Planned Route' Color
Hi all,
On my brand new Z4, the Nav System (MKIV v29.1) shows rural areas nearly white (instead of the expected light gray) making the white planned route 'invisible' in these areas.... (BTW I don't have this issue with my X5...) Have used NavTweak v2.60 to update the planned route from 'white' to 'black' (firmware v29.1) Have changed in navboot: Colors section; "map colours" , "planned route" parameter from default white to black in each profile (from rom_col to rom_col_11). Have flashed the nav system and .... ... it works However it works in 'split screen' mode only (both normal and perspective views).... when the 'full screen' mode is selected, the planned route remains in white... and I don't know why ... have well changed the planned route color in each profile.Any idea how/where to change the Planned Route color in Full Screen mode also? Cheers, Thalys

I had diffculty getting this to work also and instead changed the default map background to a light green in all rom_col sets:
map_colours default map areas R24, G29, B24 This makes the white stand out a little better and is more in keeping with English green fields ! Works in both split and wide screen. I'm not 100% sure but I think rom_col is wide screen, rom_col1 is split screen, set each set being a pair (so brown set is rom_col2 and rom_col3, mini set 10 and 11) Are you sure you've changed both sets? Try opening two navtweak windows - one pointing at original navboot, other at customised. Go through each pallete checking for differences. Last edited by davidr; 08-07-2007 at 02:27 PM. |

These were taken on the Eurotunnel Shuttle at Sangatte - sorry for the poor focus. You could make the background a little darker to improve contrast but be careful to maintain the difference between "park and forest" green and new background.

Hi David,
I've tried first to change the 'default map area' color by selecting another one in the palette but without success.... no change in displayed areas - seems to me that the 'default map area' color isn't used..... but it seems to work by you ! How did you do your update ? by selecting another color in the palette - it doesn't work for me ? or by keeping the same palette preset, but by editing this one using the sliders from R24, G24, B24 to R24, G29, B24 ? In that case - all items using the same palette preset will be updated as well (like ro_beige) - could you confirm ? Any unwanted side effect in that case ? Cheers, Thalys

Have changed the Default Map Area Preset from R24 G24 B24 to R17 G17 B10 in each profile using the RGB sliders (rom_col, ... , rom_col_11).
Planned Route also reverted back to its original white. Now the Rural Areas looks like more 'mid dark military green' instead of white and the white planned route is visible in all areas. Again it only works in split screen mode. In full screen, areas colors remain unchanged ! I can live with the split screen mode but want to understand why the colour update doesn't work in full screen mode. Cheers, Thalys

Hi guys,
I'd like to push this very old thread and maybe someone found the solution during the last 4 years ;-) Problem description: Using navtweak I have replaced the modules rom_col rom_col1 rom_col2 and rom_col3 with rubin's templates (found here: http://www.xoutpost.com/635289-post245.html) JFYI: I chose the "greenbar" templates and the colors seem to be absolutely fine in navtweak. So, everything looks great BUT the "day" colorscheme in fullscreen mode. This looks like the default colorscheme with orange border around selected items (e.g. in the settings menu). PS: The only change I did was a color adjustment to "map colours - planned route" item. Do I need to adjust also some of the other colorsets like rom_col4 to rom_col11? My MK unit is a (german?) MK4 from a 2007 BMW Z4. best regards Stefan |
