can i also use a CDM-M3 4.8 ( from Mercedes units )
would it be possible to fit in aDVD instead of a CD drive ?
what interface do car unit CD drives use instead of the normal PC IDE inetrfaces ?

The NAVI01 has a known high failure rate. I do not think it is worth trying to repair. I would upgrade to a NAVI02 or NAVI03.
