Repair DVD reader mechanism
The BMW dealer said my DVD reader mechanism has a short. Quoted $3,600 by two dealer for part. For 2003 Z4. Is there a business that repairs these readers by chance?

I assume you have a MKIV nav. The replacement nav DVD drive is about $100 I believe at an online place such as getbmwparts or check the parts dept. at your dealer. The new P/N is 65 83 9 241 764. Its not hard to change. a few small Torx screws and a couple of ribbon cable connectors.
