This guy use the OEM 16:9 Screen but is connected to a computer (only difference would be that you use a Xenarc as a touch-screen): http://www.car-amp.de/

With a Car-Pc you can add navi, dvd, tv almost everything... but you will need to do some configuration and have some skills to make everything work properly and smooth.

joll was that a custum box to house that screen? I have been looking around and have not been able to find a custum box double din, that work just looks so clean, best I have seen yet. Was that retrofitted to the mount for a single din for the X5 or done from scratch>?

That's not a BMW 16x9 screen is it? Any info on installation is appreciated.

So who sells, if anyone a trim that fits a double din for the x5/ 5series? I am looking for somehting just like joll posted where I could fit a double din unit such as an avic-d1, or any of those new eclipse avn's double din nav and dvd. I have found a retrofit box to fit the x5 a stereo but only a single din, please if you know of any place where I can find a double din case to fit in the x5 stereo please let me know. Thanks!

I'm looking into this myself, to integrate with an Eclipse.

i realize that you're all discussing integrated units, but if you want to consider a portable unit, i've been moving a garmin streetpilot 2610 between my X and Z06. Unit works great and it saves a ton of money. Newegg has it for a great price right now too.

I'm interested too. I wish I could find someone to do the install of a retrofit factory nav. But no one wants to take on the job.
