GPS in under the rear parcel shelf in the centre right at the window base.

Buy a normal GPS antenna with at least a 3m lead from ebay, like this,

SMB GPS Antenna 3 meter 3m 3.0m Cable Right Angle FULL WARRANTY | eBay

Its right at the back of the window in the centre

Thanks. Looks like i need to remove the entire rear parcel shelf.

I already purchased a used OEM GPS antenna from ebay. Received them together with my DVD module.

Once this is done, bluetooth is next. Loves the OEM Voice Command function.

make sure you go for the latest generation of BT - i think 13th gen is the latest now. i had 5th gen, there is no VR support for the nav. the 12th gen i got in my other car has the VR support for the nav.

if you want an OEM finish, then yes, remove the parcel shelf, or just tuck it out of the way, but with a clear line of sight to the sky.

Gen 13 is the latest.

VR (SES) support was added with Gen3 onwards, it is turned off as default as it was a £350/$500 option from the dealer.

Any Gen from gen3 will support VR, you just need Navcoder to enable it.

That said, get a Gen6 or better mate as that has the caller display (from you phonebook),

my gen 12 also would display text messages/SMS on the screen - but this is phone dependent!!! that was a motorola Razr phone... the newer phones that i had used since the razr would NOT do the SMS...

and the gen 5 that i have, it has the VR for the voice notes and the phone, but not for the navigation (i can say "scale 1 mile" and nothing happens) - so, was the VR for nav codable? i will need to check that...

No, apple have not implemented the correct protocols for that.

AFAIK, only the Nokia 6130, 6130i, 6230 and 6230i have this.
