Shaka, & the rest of the Regs&Faves...
I just heard back from the SpinnahJoint. Here's the
email from the main man and his group buy offer:

"David;

I would be happy to provide a "group purchase" of BimmerSpinners for
members of the* x5world* forum. This looks like an well run forum, and
it certainly has a lot of useful information for X5 owners.

I normally do a group purchase by sending all the products ordered to a
single address at one time, however, in you case I will be able to
support it as follows:

* I will offer your members a special *x5world* forum price of
$69.00 for a 30 day period, starting tomorrow, July 7.
* your members should send a check for $69.00 plus $5.95 shipping
and handling for a total of $74.95 to Skene Design, the
manufacturer of the BimmerSpinner, and identify themselves as
x5world subscribers. Virginia resident should include $3.45 state
sales tax, for a total of $78.40.
* I will ship the BimmerSpinners within 2 weeks of the receipt of
each payment

I hope that this offer will be attractive to your membership.

Best Regards;
Jerry Skene - Skene Design"

Shaka, if you are willing to be the GuineaPig, order at reduced rate. Your offer of a test is exc. and appreciated! :thumbup:

The REVIEW is IN...

5 Attachment(s)
So I recieved the spinners today via USPS Priority Mail. They were shipped exactly as advertised on the website. Using the included removal tool (a suction cup) I wiped each OEM cap, pressed on the tool and pulled off easily (total time: 1 minute).

I then compared the OEM vs. the spinners...
OEM Cap - raised grey/green outer lip, silver is a matte stainless steel color, entire surface is flat.
Spinner Cap - No lip, wider outer ring, silver is chrome in color and raised.

The spinning is achieved by the use of a small triangular weight on the back that rocks the spinner to the correct orientation in ~5 seconds.

Per the instructions, I pressed each cap onto each wheel (total time: 1 minute). Each cap rotated correctly into place.

Shaka intends to keep his, I think they look great! While seemingly subtle I have been flagged down twice tonight by fellow bimmer owners who wanted to know where I got them... I should have held out for a commission. ( <--- damn sales guys).

Hey Shaka. Thanks for being the lab rat. :thumbup:

They look very similar in design to the plastic caps. Are they pretty well built and do they seem to be fairly durable?

Except for differences noted in the review they seem identical. The backs have the same tabs and design as the OEM. Additionally I attempted to pick the graphics off ( to see if they were molded vs. adhesive letters ), they did not budge and are professional in appearance.
