We have a pack of the usual "Z28" style hot rod Camaros in western NC. The Staties arm wrestle over who gets to drive them that shift. One cop I was bsing with, said they have been "breathed on" pretty well. Though they are not the interior size or beefiness of the Charger.

Nyc Cops Should Drive The Prius
 

NYC cops should dirve the PRIUS or other Hybrids.

It does not matter what they drive when those lights go on you better pull over.

I could see a few fast highway units but for general use they sould drive a Hybrid!

Then they wouldn't be as cool. But then again, why do they need Chargers in a city packed with traffic.

The amount of extra money that hybrids cost and fuel costs, the NYPD wouldn't recoup or save any money until 50k miles.

Because NYPD also patrols queens, brooklyn, the bronx, etc etc. There are highways all over the 5 boroughs. Especially this little road called The Long Island Expressway while it's in Queens, and the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. the NYPD doesn't just patrol NYC.
