MVA in Maryland....

Man I hate stupid laws written to generate money for outside groups.

I bought out my lease on my BMW from BMW financial and as a result I have to have the vehicle state inspected. WTF? It's staying in my hands, I'm the original owner and I'm continuing to own it. Just a BS way to make money. So I have to spend $60.00 on nothing....unless of course the guy harasses me about my tint (which may or may not happen).

seriously? wow! i've never heard of that.
that makes no sense whatsoever.

Wagner 02-15-2006 06:07 PM

Yah, no kidding. I even called to confirm it.

At least it's a one-time deal in MD- we have to shell out $15 every year for state inspection. Do you know if all vehicle sales in Murry-land require an inspection?

as far as i know, if ur registering the
vehicle in MD, yes, w/ the exception
of a new vehicle from a dealer.

Wagner 02-15-2006 08:01 PM

Well we pay for new registration every 2 years...which blows.

JV 02-15-2006 11:14 PM

Yeah, we have to pay $26 a year for registration. Gotta love the Commonwealth!

No inspection in Idaho :D - vehicle registration is $64/yr, vanity plates :( - but costs decrease in following years if nothing changes :) - 8 yr driving license  - surprisingly, extremely few clunkers out here (especially compared to back east) - From my experience in NJ, state vehicle inspection does not seem to keep unsafe vehicles off the roads.
