If I had the choice of believing CNN or Michael Moore, I'd pick CNN. :tsk:

It's quite ironic that you've made the statement that people just don't know what was going on the former Yugoslovia because the media taints the truth, yet you believe in F911.

Thanks for the laugh. :)

But to us, on the other side of the pond, Milosevic was a brutal thug who by most accounts, used nationalism to create a killing field. While not the only thug in the Balkan conflict, he was by far, the biggest of the monsters and his capture meant at least he did not die a free man. Genocide, either offensive or defensive, is the darkest and most evil weapon of war. Milosevic's page in the history book can never be excused or rationalized. It is like using the Treaty of Vienna to excuse Hitler.

You are correct that not all aspects of the news is reported, but I don't think there is a global media cabal capable of re-writing history. Even Michael Moore has failed. History will likely view him equally as both a putz and mediocre propagandist. Some may argue the same of Dubya. And while it would be nice if Jenna and Tonic would volunteer (between Michael Kors shows) at Walter Reed Hospital, it is not fair to expect them to send them to a FOP. Wait until Prince William gets deployed--that'll be a logistical nightmare, but hats off, he wants to "be with his mates". That's the Spencer blood talking, IMO.

Are you an American or a Serbian? Either way, you have either the duty and the freedom to be a witness to the history of your people. Write it down. Maybe someday you will have a grandson who will wear the uniform of an American soldier. He will want to know how he came to have the honor of being an American and what it means to have noble intententions.

:iagree: Furthermore, I just cant believe some of the crap flying outta posts. But there lies additional problems. The utter lack of education in some areas (I AM NOT CALLING SERBS STUPID) helps breed popagandist notions. I mean hell, this war has been going on for hundreds of years right :tsk: . I have been there for almost 10 years cleaning up this shitty mess, so I do know the facts. I do believe there were atrocities on all sides. But Serbia made entire cities and families disappear. The Serbs took it to the Hitler level (or at least Rawandan Level). The boy was mad, plain and simple. He had a far superior military and used it as a thugocracy. You guys are all alike, defending your actions as defensive, bitching about what everyone else did. Are you mad at the big M because he failed? You should be embarrassed at what he did, about the reputation you will spend the rest of your life repairing, regardless of your personal morality and character. How do I know this? I am a white boy fom the South..........

We all have the right to our own opinion. I just gave my opinion about Bush, and I would not go any deeper in that subject. But about the war in my ex country I can say quite a bit, because I can say that I know the history behind it.

I did not have an intention to cause anyody to hate me because of my comments, but if that have to be the result, oh well. I'm just a pacifist, and I don't laugh when I talk about deaths of innocent people. I'll rest my case here because we started going in circles.

P.S. Just to add. Does anybody knows which side Croatians took in World War II?

There's no hatred and no laughing at the death of innocent people.

The laughing was at the irony and contradictory statements that you made.

Today's New York Times (not exactly the media lapdog of the Bush Administration) has a pretty succinct article about Milosevic. Good background info as well. You may have to log in or register to access the article.

Not exactly the media lapdog of the Bush admin is an understatement, the Times should be renamed "The Left Bible" :)

Editorially, I agree that the NewYawkTimes Op-Ed and Ed., is pretty lib.; beyond that though, to dismiss it is shortsighted, as the writing and articles tend to be first class, imo.

Acella: Good art. I read that on the web earlier.
