Long Island as well. It's a soccer mom car for the well off, mostly 3.0's though.

My wife drives the X as well and she gets the same problems as me but I have the attitude of blinker on I am changing lanes so if you want an accident go ahead, most don't and back off.

As my wife says "anybody going slower than my husband is an idiot and anyone going faster is a jerk", I think she is reffering to my alternate driving personality that I am still taking the meds for!

Since I started driving my X5 the other cars just seem to move to slow.

I have to admit that I am much more likely to change lanes and drive aggressive.

I think that BMW drivers do have a rep for being aggressive; we all know that not true just that the other driver need to upgrade their rides

i doubt that its a soccer mom car... its just people are jealous... i have a 3.0 i dont really see a lot of women around my town driving it a couple yeahh.. you cant just criticize a car like that lol

Over the last few years, on the North Shore of Long Island, X5 3.0's became the soccer mom vehicle of choice. It has nothing to do with trying to explain the topic at hand nor was it criticism, it was just a tangential observation about a very affluent area.
