what bmw should make you do when you buy an M car or one of their high-end sport v-8s (550 or 650) or their V-12 760 is include bmw performance driving school. this has benefits such as you're not moving from a suburban into a M5 without a little knowledge of what the car can do in your hands. plus, who wouldn't spend an extra thousand dollars for something that is worth while. When I bought my '06 4.8 I decided to do an M car break-in, which is 3200 miles before going above 100 or 4k rpm. During this time I went to the BMW driving school and drove a 4.8 on a track, knew what it could do before I drove mine the way "its ment to be driven". THis helped me out quite a bit especially since I was moving from a low power mercedes to a the x5. after getting track experience (albeit a very short time), in my case at least, you don't drive as fast, you are much more attentive, and the best part is that you know what your car can do, so there is no point in testing it. do you even know me?? I guarantee you that unless you are an extradinary 14 yo, you will not be able to keep up with me in a car or bike. And how does race have anything to do with it? I will be happy to meet up with you since I'm in the bay area in the East bay. I will take you out in my 470hp E39 M5, my modded r6 and my 400hp B6 S4. Sears Point, Thunderhill and Laguna Seca. Your preference.

in terms of our little friend, he's not experienced enough to take an M3 out. Guys on the board here know about my E46 m3 that I tracked on occasions.

So your telling me a 17 year old can't drive well? I've seen 6 14 year olds in BMW driver training, who I'd bet handle a car a LOT better then you on a race-track... Just don't make generalizations like this... its really unnecessary.

If you want to come watch me drive, and then make judgments, by all means do. Come to the bay area and I'll go for a drive with you. Then you can talk all you want about how I am an unexperienced driver. But saying that at4689 is not an experienced driver without knowing him is unbelievable stupidity on your part.

They do on M cars. They give you a free M school with your purchase. I wish they did it with all Bimmers

Paid £50K for my M3 and guess what? No M school. But, came from a 328 so did move up. Going straight to an M3 would be fine, but parents would have to remove the 'Sport' button :rofl:

I didn't realize this, I was looking at a M3 and the salesman never mentioned it, which is surprising because that seems to be a selling point, something that would draw, well me at least, away from the S4 / C55
