Hazards in the rain?
 

Are you supposed to turn on your hazards when it's pouring? The past two nights I have been on the highway in the middle of a heavy down-pour and 50% of the vehicles have their hazards on. :dunno: :confused:

I have never expreienced this. Where do you live?

in heavy downpour where there is pour visibility, people here will flash their hazards so other will see and slow down.

My general rule is if its raining so hard that you can barely see the car in front of you. That means that the guy in back of you can barely see you. So put your hazards on to make it easier for people to see you. But no its not a law

i thought that was illegal and not recommended unless you are about to become a road hazard.

why not install rear fogs for like under $10?

by the way, one would not have poor visability if one would use Rain-X!!

Ive seen one or two people do that before...I don't see how it is a benefit. All it does is distract you from driving.....

Here is another question, since in Maryland (and I assume other states in the USA) require your headlights to be on when your wipers are, why not make the vehicle automatically turn the headlights on when the wipers are set to on?

i experienced this last night and i must say, it was quite a distraction.
what also bothers me is, ok, i know it's raining and u as the other driver
is driving at a slow rate of speed, but y r u in the fast lane? if u want to
drive 40 mph w/ ur hazards on in a 65 mph zone, get the hell out of the
fast lane!:mad:
