I have never heard that for CA but it wouldn't surprise me being as broke of a state as we are but I have never heard anything. Yes I went to court to contest that I did make a complete stop because I did see the cop but it wasn't good enough. Fortunately I went to traffic school. As for AAA they have been quite good to us, I've had them since I could drive (16) and they have been good about paying claims and we have a few on there (Chuck hitting parking pole is the most recent) we have a 0.00 deductible on collision which really helps but so far no increases.

not when the points count against your insurance the next time you get a ticket! Guess non CA or NY/NJ people won't understand.

Maybe I don't understand it...I guess that I am from the old school of thinking that if I get pulled over by the Police then chances are I have broken the law. Therefore, if I have broken the law then I get a ticket. Have I gotten a ticket before? Sure. Was I breaking the law when I got the ticket? I hate to admit it but yep. There are laws, rules, and regulations for a reason. If you don't obey, you must pay.

Exactly! If i can pay a reasonable amount and get away without any points (last resort), I'd be more than willing to do so. Also, with fighting the ticket, you can at least request that your fines be lowered and ask for traffic school to get rid of the points that come with the infraction/violation if you don't win.

California has one of the highest insurance rates. A few points could mean as much as up to $800 in increase in insurance.
