Poll, again...
 

Today's poll question is: What does your screen name mean? I ask because some people here have the most bizarre screen names and I can't figure out what they mean.

For those of you that are new around here, my screen name was originally just Joel, back at Roadfly... One week I was home sick from school, so I had nothing better to do than sit at the computer all day asking questions about the X5. Lo and behold, in that week's Freaky Friday, PNG bestowed on me the nickname "Curious Joel"... It stuck.

Correction: I think my original screen name was actually JoelH1025, but that doesn't matter.

"Kaefer" means "beetle" or "bug" in German.

I lived in Germany for many years, and some 10 years ago, when I first started piddling around on the 'Net using AOL, I picked "Kaefer" for no other reason than I thought it was cute and uncommon. I've used it ever since. I no longer have AOL, but I do still have "Kaefer" as my AIM screen name, and I still use it for just about all the bulletin boards to which I subscribe.

For those who are old timers from the RF days you'll know why I adopted my handle. For those who are newer, our long odyssey to where we are now in X5world started back on Roadfly where most of us met. We had good times there until a couple of their admins got stupid on us. I got banned albeit temporarily. Others challenged the admins and were banned too. Long story short, I no longer felt welcome there so I was "persona non grata".
