Doom of Winter! After summer down here we get three seasons of Spring, Spring and Spring! Well, maybe the leaves and grass do turn brown and yellow, and it does get really cold sometimes, but overall the weather is much more "human friendly" most of the time.

I must agree with you on the time change though. I wish they'd just leave it on daylight savings time all year! Mid-winter it gets dark here at about 6:00. Seems like such a waste when the weather is so nice. Ah but then the kids would have to go to school each morning in the dark....

my folks evacuate to Orlando for Charlie, and we stayed here. They had a light pole fall on their car in their hotel parking lot. We had a bunch of trees down. Me and some neighbore spent a couple days with chainsaws going through the neighborhood and freeing our neighbors from the trees in their yards. The PlayStation didn't work, so it gave us something to do.

Of course, at the time, Charlie was forecast to be a Cat 3 in Tampa, which scared us a little, but not a lot. After it hit Port Charlotte as a 4/5, I was scared to death. I won't be hanging around for any Cat 3's any more.

Feels like fall here today. The furnace came on yesterday and a couple of days before that the A/C was on full blast. Wacky local bi-polar weather.

We will be escaping the Autumn in the UK by flying to Orlando for 3 weeks in October. Very hot summer here at the moment though. Hope the UK - USA flying scare has subsided a bit by then, no hand baggage??

Think your emotions are shifted there, you should be here..10 years and Im still trying to get used to cutting my grass and still putting burgers on the grill at 11pm...Of course, between Dec and Feb, the only time I see the sun is if I take my lunch hour OUT of the office...

I feel it too here. Yesterday was PERFECT for washing/waxing - warm, not hot with very little humidity - and I did just that. Nights are cooler and less humid, great for sleeping with the windows open. It was in the high 50's last night.

I like early summer. I like the first snowstorm of winter. Besides than that, I'm a Fall and Spring guy. On the other hand, I can feel your pain about the passing of another fun summer. Hang in there! It's not over yet :)

And Gresch hit it right on the button...COLLEGE FOOTBALL!
