Anyone ever have their gas pedal get stuck on the floor?

Just wondering... happened to me yesterday in Nicole's work parking lot (third time, 1st two were on the front straight of Summit Point @ 120mph). She thought I was being an attention whore (bouncing the revs off the limiter and bringing the engine almost to the point of KA-BOOM).

Anyway, was just curious if anyone ever had any issues like this before on any car.

Not to me but it happened to my uncle in one of his Ferraris along time ago. He said it was the scariest thing that has ever happened to him. He kept pulling it up with his foot and finally it let go and released.
Did the gas pedal get stuck down on you M3. If so that is surprising.

Maybe it's just a touch of premature acceleration...

Very scary, it happened to me long time ago driving a Ford aerostar, it got stuck for about 5 second and those were the scariest 5 seconds of my life:scared:

I used to get that in a old VW Jetta... the only thing that would work would be to give it a quick press all the way down and release... not a lot of fun in traffic

happens to me alot.. but there's an object over the pedal that keeps it down all the time...

happened to me in a '74 VW SuperBeetle... it's scary... your first reaction is to take it out of gear and then the engine runs wild... have to remember to just shut it down when it happens. it was ugly.

probably a better idea to get it out of gear, nothing's gonna happen if it's bouncing off the revlimit. this way you've still got power brakes. after stopping you can shut it down.

Yep happened to me when the return spring on the carburretor (sic) snapped on my '67 Mini 850cc, boy that thing shot down the road right past two cops eating their Mickey D's. They pulled me over but after realizing the problem just laughed and let me go!

Ya it happened to me with my first car...1990 oldsmobile cutlass supreme coupe..just bought it for 600 bucks with 60,000 miles....on the first day i got it registered...just put the reg. plates on and was taking my friends for a ride....I was on my street which is a dead end and wanted to burn out of my spot to turn around...so i flooored it..burnt out took my foot off the gass and it kept going towards the jersey barrier at the end of my street....i tried to slam on the brakes and put it into neutral but went to far and put it into reverse...left like a 6 foot strip on my street...b4 actually getting it into neutral...the car was bouncing of the limiter so i turned it off quickly...looked under the hood and the throttle got stuck on a wire...it was pretty scary!

Yep Happens EVERY time I get in the car
It's like the pedal is stuck , but it's my foot that wont let it off the floor!
....sorry to hear about the scary situation
glad you're O.K.

Mine actually goes through the top of the floorboard and has a large bolt in the middle/towards the bottom of the floorboard to act as a stop. I think the back of the pedal is getting stuck on that somehow :( Kinda sucks when you go WOT, lift, and the car is still at WOT
