Why don't the airlines equip planes with parachutes for everyone on board? can't be extra weight issue...

High altitude drop, it would be useless for most without Oxygen, and $$$$

plus those commercial planes are not designed to jump out at that speed.

Neither point is valid - fighter jet pilots have 'em and they fly even higher and faster!

And generally things on a plane go from, FINE to "Oh crap, were going to die" really quickly.

Yeah. Were saying commercial airlines will never spend the money to equip for a high altitude jump or ejection. The common soccer mom would probably not survive it anyway.
