**!! Ebay HELP/ADVICE!!**

I recently won an ebay auction on some 22inch wheels and tires see below.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=270052822431

I won fair and square and paid instantly with paypal.

About 2 hours later, after the auction ended, I get an email from the seller saying the following, "there is a mistake with the auction i put a reserve price that wsn't met and somehow it didn't work . i need to refund your money because i cannot let these rims and tires go for the price you won them for i would be out too much money. i am sorry for the confusion."

As you can tell by the auction there was no reserve and i won at a very low price.

What should i do about this? I dont want a refund, I want the wheels.

Isnt this a contract, do i have any legal rights to get the wheels?

I made a despute with paypal and also did a claim with ebay which is opening an "investigation" about the case.

Any advice??:dunno:

You can't put a reserve price once a bid was placed. so it is the seller's fault. i hope you get the wheels. GL and keep us posted!

Legally you might have the edge but I don't know man, $710 for those beautiful wheels and tires is unreasonably low (unless he stole the damn things). My gut tells me that he might be telling you the truth. There are so many inexperiened eBay players out there.

What would you do if you were in his shoes?

Call e-bay directly. They really frown on this kind of stuff and may require him to live it to the agreement. A friend just called the directly about a fraud matter and they were all over it. Keep a record of everything including the final bid and all correspondence.

Quicksilver is right. eBay is great at going after fraud, whether by a reasonable mistake or not.

Wow that was a steal, I belive you are entitled to the wheels legally

Update: The guy refunded me this morning, and i get an email from ebay telling me that the dispute has been closed so it looks like its over.

I was pumped to get those rims, looks like i;ll have to keep looking.

Thanks for all who responded.
