Not the first time I have heard this sort of thing. This sort of policy is coming from the oval office. This group in the Bush Administration simply does not like any sort of international law whether it be the International Criminal Court, Geneva Conventions, or even the United Nations as a whole.
This same group all held positions in the Reagan Administration, and they supported Saddam all the while he was committing these attrocities against the people of Iraq, and even went so far as to attempt to cover up his attrocities so that American businesses could continue to do business with Iraq and so that there would be no international sanctions. So now when it suits their agenda, they will lay the blame at his door, again at the expense of the Iraqi people.
Nothing they do has any agenda outside of economics. Attrocities, Terrorism, Freedom, Democracy and Religion are all tools they use to run a policy driven 100% by economics. They use any combination of these issues only when it suits their agenda.
