Jeep SRT Question?

Just went to Jeep to pick up my wifes car and saw the new SRT Jeep. Pretty nice SUV but has anyone heard of any problems with it other than poor gas milage? I asked the guy about putting snow tires on and said it was not possible. What do you do in a case like that if you wanted to put smaller wheels on for the winter? Is this Jeep worth 42K fully loaded? I had a 99 Jeep Grand and had nothing but problems with it. Any suggestions?

it's only $42,000??? i heard horrible mileage. you probably put snow tires on it, it's probably hard to find the correct size.

1999 was a high-problem year for JEEP GC's, just to let you know. It is REALLY fast. I think somebody here owns one.

I like the SRT......looks good and is really fast. If I had extra cash lying around, it'd be on my list of cars to buy. Some pics I snapped at the auto show:

The interior was pretty decent..........I mean sure there were some cheap parts and the door handles are located near your knees (!?). But this is the kinda quality I expect from ALL domestics. At LEAST this good.

I had a V6 Grand Cherokee rental in Cali once, and the V6 is craap, it's really noisy and unrefined. A few months later, I had a V8 4x4 rental in Colorado, and besides runnning out of fuel, it was good.
Also, the seating positions are for some reason really messed up.

I really like the SRT-8, looks like a fun ride for not a lot of money. I am surprised that your dealership has it marked at $42,000. The dealerships out here have it "Market-adjusted" and are selling them from $65,000-$70,000.

They say that they do a market adjustment on the price. A lot of the dealerships do that out here.

best value suv

i own one. Basically the dash doesn't have the plushness you would find on a lexus/bms but it outperforms every suv out there and most sport cars. I sold my x5 for one and couldn't be happier. It has all the gadgets navigation, autoheadlight hi beams, and so on and an upgraded 6.1l hemi(versus the 5.7).
The range rover supercharged is the only prettier suv but is way sloww and if u really want an suv with a history of reliability issues that one is the one.

To find info on snow tires u can use either of the following 2 sites

Also wait for a good deal. i picked my 06 up last july during employee pricing for 40,000 fully loaded. However not all dealers were offering the employee pricing. It saved me 5k
And u get a free trip to www.srttrackexperience.com
