That is a good spot, but I do not want to hardwire my V1. Im sure my V1 is probably running at normal temp, but what about my signals? The front signal is very weak and picks up too late. My back signal is strong and will pick up for miles??

The hardwire cost me $40 from my service tech. and I never have to touch it. Goes ON and OFF with the ignition switch. SO EASY.

Regarding signals, I never noticed a difference in strength from back to front. I assumed they were the same sensitivity. When it beeps, I just look at the arrow and make a decsion. The simpleton approach, I guess. :rolleyes:

My sensitivity seems off. The front signal will not start beeping until I am about 20 yards from a radar car, once I pass the back radar goes on full force and will not let up for close to two miles. I find that this occurs consistently. I have had to send it in already a few months ago, when an E showed up on the screen. I think I have a defective unit.

I have an idea. When you approach the radar car from behind he is shooting his radar unit forward and the signal is bouncing off an object ahead of both of you when reflecting back to your V1 - thus, it's a weak signal after the long travel distance and scatter pattern from the reflection. When you pass him, he is then shooting directly into your back window and hitting your rear sensor - thus, a very strong signal.

Next time this happens check to see if the police car's back window is empty and if his only unit is facing forward. That would be my guess.
