Hello from Jamaica!
 

I just wanted to check in and say hi. I'm in Jamaica with my family and two friends. We're staying at the Half Moon Resort in Rose Hall. The trip is going ok so far. We arrived on Friday, our luggage got here tonight. The staff here are either really, really nice or complete jerks. For example: Last night we were going to dinner. We didn't have our luggage, so we bought some clothes at the resort. Me and my friend Joe were both wearing a polo shirt and dress pants, so we looked fine. The maitre d' wouldn't let us in the restaurant because we weren't wearing long pants.. :rolleyes: He didn't care that we had no clothes and my mother had just spent $400 on two pairs of over-priced dress shorts in the resort shop.. They escorted us out of the building unnecessarily (we were upset, but we weren't being violent or loud or anything) and we had to eat at basically a burger joint. The thing is, it's only one night a week that you have to wear long pants. And they couldn't make one exception? Oh well. The warm weather and sun makes up for all the minor bad things.

I'm jealous. I had a good time in Jamica when I went a few years ago. Stayed in Ocho Rios at the Royal Plantation which was really nice. Had a good, relaxing time, but the service was hit and miss, and certainly everything was on "jamaican time". Have a good time.

What's the big deal about Jamaica? Almost every LIRR train goes through there except for the PW branch :p

LOL I think the only people that could appreciate that joke would be the people who either take the LIRR or live in the tri-state area who are familiar with the mass transit system :rofl:

The last time I checked, though, you couldn't get a view like those pictures from Jamaica, Queens :D

We brought long dress pants, but the luggage was lost.

:) We all love Jamaica as much as any place we've ever been. The vast majority of the people here at the resort are so incredibly warm and friendly! It's incredibly beautiful here. It's much too wonderful to let some stupid maitre d' ruin it. I love it here!

It's been another great day here in Jamaica. It was very hot today. We swam with the dolphins today. Interestinly enough, this morning when we were in the lobby an Olivin Green X5 3.0 pulled into the portico in front of the hotel! I only got a bad picture, from far away, and it isn't on the computer yet.

I was at The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall.....assisting them in implementing a new menu at the Jasmine Restaurant for 5 weeks. Check out the jerk shops around the streets...Jerk Conch....very good mann.....:popcorn:
