I just wanted to check in and say hi. I'm in Jamaica with my family and two friends. We're staying at the Half Moon Resort in Rose Hall. The trip is going ok so far. We arrived on Friday, our luggage got here tonight. The staff here are either really, really nice or complete jerks. For example: Last night we were going to dinner. We didn't have our luggage, so we bought some clothes at the resort. Me and my friend Joe were both wearing a polo shirt and dress pants, so we looked fine. The maitre d' wouldn't let us in the restaurant because we weren't wearing long pants.. He didn't care that we had no clothes and my mother had just spent $400 on two pairs of over-priced dress shorts in the resort shop.. They escorted us out of the building unnecessarily (we were upset, but we weren't being violent or loud or anything) and we had to eat at basically a burger joint. The thing is, it's only one night a week that you have to wear long pants. And they couldn't make one exception? Oh well. The warm weather and sun makes up for all the minor bad things.
