$55 but I have Executive membership which is $100 and their earning card. You can also buy new cars through them.

costco auto's is a GREAT service.... i bought my trailblazer using it. basically you tell costco what you want, they email you back with a dealer in your area that is in the program and the dealer has to give you the car for some ridiculous low price. the chevy dealer that i went to went even lower than the costco price because he liked my vette! lol!

I went for the executive membership, because for the $45 difference, you get 2% of MOST of your purchases (excluding food court, stamps, and some other things) back at the end of the year in the form of a costco gift certificate. So in reality, to get your $45 back, all you have to do is spend $2,250 a year at costco (any costco, not just the one you apply for membership at), and you get your money back. If you're looking to make a big electronics purchase during the course of the year, this really makes it worthwhile. Even if you don't make a big ticket purchase, it's usually near impossible to get out of costco without spending more than 200 a trip... LOL so one trip a month and you will have paid the "centurion costco card" off ;)

You can get the same thing by getting a Costco branded blue AMEX card, which has no annual fee, so you're only $45 out of pocket and don't need the exec membership.

IMO, they are going to need to get a little more aggressive with their pricing on electronics now that their "point of difference" is gone. Just my 2¢

ah really? I didn't know that ... I've always avoided those employees that stand by the entrance / exit and ask me "do you want to apply for our american express card", thinking I already have an amex ...

I guess this is more cost-effective, since I never shop during the "executive members only" early hour that they give you ... actually I lied I did once LOL and the warehouse was, indeed, empty

I signed up because AMEX raised my annual gold card fee with membership rewards to $120... so I told them to stuff it (after having the card since 88) and got the costco version.

That's what prompted this thread:

China Man 02-28-2007 12:09 PM
