I hear ya...you have to feel appreciated where you work. If not, then it's time to find someone who will recognize all that you do. Seems like M has found that, which is good to see.

As an employer, I completely understand when someone leaves for a better work opprotunity and more money. Yes, it does suck to have good people leave, but it's part of the game.
If we can, we try to incentivize the people to stay, but it doesn't always work.

I say, leave on good terms. Give plenty of notice, even help them to find your replacement.
