Laptop options
My brother in law wants a laptop for his 40th birthday. He's just going to use it to check emails and go on the internet, stupid stuff. My sister is clueless where to start and you KNOW I'm no help. Any suggestions?
BTW - I did seach laptops first, there's alot of threads to look through  My attention span isn't that long. TIA :) |
SONY VAIO!
-only if stylishness and quality is top priority :D |

I like Sony computers, since my desktop has been very reliable for the past couple years. Hence, I got a Sony Vaio laptop for college. Lotta neat features and it looks nice. I suppose you could get a Mac since that seems to be all the rage among kids my age thesedays.

Thanks all,
I'll give her this info. It's a good place to start. :) |
VAIO SZ is what I use at the moment and it's a nice laptop with a very nice screen, albeit on the flimsy side. If you're looking for reliability/durability there is nothing better than a thinkpad t series, imo. That is unless you're looking into the panasonic toughbook line!

Lenovo or Mac!! Please don't get a Sony..they make nice tv's but the laptops are nothing but good looking junk.

Lenovo (aka IBM Thinkpad) is my recommendation
