From what I've heard about Dakar, "peaceful" is the last thing that comes to mind....but hey, you're from there, you would be the one to know it! I definately believe the nice beaches part...are there a lot of european tourists?

Just curious: who is the sign advertising to? Don't know much about the country but i wonder how many of the people there can afford an X5?

What can I say? Seeing orphaned children line up for a simple soup feeding and be full of love and laughter kind of changes your perspective on things. Namibia is about 2x the size of California and has no speed limits to speak of. Narrow, dangerous, and game-crossed roads, but perfext X5 country. Don't know much about Namibia but you'd be VERY surprised. There is a decent size population of most African nations that can afford an X5 and more. Car manufactures don't advertise jusy for the fun of it.
