There's plenty of resort like that, if you read what's written in that link, that's minor street crimes such as purse snatching, street vendors and pickpockets that every major city in the world has. All I was saying is that major violence such as gun violence, robbery at gun point and stuff like that don't exist. I'm sure if you can survive driving in the streets:rofl:, Dakar is much safer than MOST major American cities. Common sens will get you out of most situations anywhere in the world, I personally don't think tourist/local should walk alone in any streets at night, that's just inviting trouble. Try walking 2 blocks from the White House here in DC at 14th/Euclide it's prolly as dangerous as Bagdad:rofl::rofl::rofl:. A few members here have been there more than once, talk to them, that's probably more helpful than reading that crap on govermental website and that goes for most developing countries.

:hijack: sorry!

BTW, if you're worried about violence, stay away from Lagos, been there and it is CRAZY. Robberies and Kidnapping at gunpoint reign in Lagos. My best friend's wife who's actually Nigerian was kidnapped there 3 years ago, thank god the end had a positive outcome.

lol, wasn't planning on vacationing there. Just thought it would be interesting to see how a city like that operates.
If you want dangerous, go to Bogotá, Columbia. :)

Yeah, I heard, my wife is 1/2 Columbian :)!

Don't really have a breakdown on the demographics of Nam, but there is a Range Rover dealer and an Audi dealer in Windhoek in addition to the BMW dealer, so there has got to be an audience. I cannot think of a better place to really benefit from having an X5, although I would want a game guard and plenty spot lights if driving at night as the wart hogs and springboks are all over the place...not to mention the nuclear sandspurs they have.
