Agree on that. That's one thing I don't like either.

G,
Not here to persuade or dissuade you either way...
but, have you driven the S5 for more than around the block?

Have you read C&D's 2 Cts on their website or, seen the
quick overview in the lastest mag?

Interesting car, but not for me; a smoothed out M3, imo.
And, an incognito car as only the intelligentsia or those
with car spotter guides will even notice it isn't a...or, a...

Drive whatcha like, though.

C6Z is $80k, S5 is $58k

335 is too small for me, and I don't like the look of the 335 vert.

the S5 does 0-60 in 4.8
the 335 does 0-60 in 5.3

i'm ok with the drop in HP from my Z. Can always get another one
What about a late model E55 or E63, I heard they are real rocket sleds (0-60 claimed to be 4.1 or 4.2 bone stock)

Gresch i thought u were a man of swift, calculated decisions,,, i did not know that u got into the emotional involvement of purchasing a car,,,i don't think anyone here is going to influence u're decision that the audi is for u.... u have already bonded with that car... it is currently u're viagra car,,, the only hard part for u is parting with the moola,,,personally i would sell u're daily driver and use the audi as such.... the only thing that confuses me is u're vette ... if u enjoy driving it as much as u do then how can u resist not driving it at least once a week...

Don't listen to these naysayers ;). There is nothing rational about owning or driving an S5 or an M3. They are all emotional/financial decisions. If you enjoy the ride, buy the ride. And invite me along for a ride. :)

FYI, I just swapped my 04 A4 Cab for a new 07 A4 Cab and it is a big improvement. I'll post pics in the next week or two, once the thing is cleaned up.

who says that I don't drive it at least once a week?
where are you getting the "emotion" angle from?
why do you think the hard part is financial?

basically, the only part of your post that's even mildly close to being correct is the part where you say you're confused! :nanana:

I haven't driven it yet. The good thing about the potential deal is that I can spec and order the car with a $1000 deposit for a December delivery. Prior to december, the dealer will ahve a demo unit in stock that I can evaluate (he said he'ld lend it to me for a day!), and if don't like it, he'll refund my deposit and i walk away (he won't have trouble selling it, that's for sure).

No dice on the S5... if it drives like the other audi's, it's too front wheel drive biased and I don't like the feeling of being pulled.

next up 335xi....

What happened? Did you test drive Audi today? The 335 is nice. Which one, coupe or sedan? The coupe is sweet.

LeMansX5 09-02-2007 09:50 AM

Somehow, I knew he will not like it. ;)
