I used my Amex gold card to purchase my iPhone.

So they are giving a 100 back on something they reduced by 200.

I have the Platinum, not sure about the Gold.

I have Platinum too. It's great, I highly recommend it.
A new perk is that it will let you into any AA Admirals Club for free with the card. A lot of other stuff too.
But anyways, Apple's stock fell becuase of the lower price announcement. It was around 145 on Wednesday morning and it went down to 133 today.
