I'm in my 7th decade, but my hearing is excellent and I feel

Perhaps at home with a very high quality audiophile system, but in a motor vehicle I personally don't think the difference is discernable.

For most people that's correct. But for these old ears we can tell the difference. ;) There are some simple reasons ears don't hear what their suppose to hear these days. If you have the time check this out. It explains a lot. http://www.prorec.com/Articles/tabid...7/Default.aspx

Same experience with volvos :p

i lost a rare DVD in my laptop once. I flipped out at apple, and somehow, they "found" my limited edition copy that they could "never find in a million years"

CDs do sound better than mp3s. It is noticeable on any audio system to my ears.

cough, cough. AAC...

cough cough... Apple lossless codec.

Problem solved.

Then again, if you really are crazy and think you can hear a difference, you could always play .aiff files off of an iPod (or pretty much any other media device)... ;)

Quicksilver 09-09-2007 12:44 PM

When you done with your cough medicine get something for your ears. Or better yet try taking a music appreciation class. Then you like some of the rest of us WILL be able to hear the difference. ;)
