If that were a Jewish display the entire city would have been in an uproar and hassidim would have marched through every borough arm in arm for weeks. The newest group to bash is Catholics and Rudy stood up for his beliefs. yeah, wouldn't want that in a leader, someone who has conviction.. nahhh... :rolleyes:


NYC is a much safer, cleaner and nice place to live because of Giuliani.

Most of them did not "retire" by choice. Most of them were defeated in every office they tried to run for, and thus were forced into retirement.

Let's see.....here is a list of all the mayors in the last 80 years and how their political careers ended:

-Dinkins lost re-election for mayor.
-After being elected as mayor, Koch ran for governor and lost. He later lost re-elelection for mayor.
-Beame lost re-election for mayor.
-After being mayor, Lindsay ran for the Senate and lost.
-At age 55, Wagner did not run for re-election and never ran for office again.
-Impellitteri lost re-election for mayor.
-O'Dwyer resigned from the office of mayor due to a political scandal.
-O'Brien lost re-election for mayor.
-LaGuardia -- yes, you can say he retired. He was 63 years old when he left office. He was ill and died less than 2 years later.
-O'Brien lost re-election for mayor
-McKee lost re-election for mayor.
-Walker resigned from the office of mayor due to being prosecuted for political corruption.

More like forced retirement for most of these guys. When you get fired (i.e. lose re-election) from your job or are forced to resign due to scandal, your chances to obtain a higher job are usually not so great. :rofl:
