Hmm, interesting MySpace and suicide
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/11/17/int....ap/index.html
So quick hits: - Girl under 14 (you are required to be at least 14 to make one) creates a MySpace site with parents blessing. Parents know she has mental disorders and is unstable. - Girl 'meets' another person on MySpace, a boy, but is really a creation of her old friends made up to mess with her. - Parents are actually 'happy' that the depressed girl found a friend on MySpace. - MySpace boy tells girl he no longer wishes to be her friend. - Girl kills herself. - Parents attempt to go after the group who created the bogus person.. --- OK, sorry your child killed herself..... Now...who's to blame, the parent, the one that decided unsupervised relationships for a 13/14 year old were alright over the internet. |
I saw this on the news today. I would have to take them out back to the wood shed.

An unfortunate situation, but I don't know that anyone really deserves blame here. The kids were obviously acting mean, but they didn't do anything illegal and certainly are not responsible for murder.
We make plenty of jokes around here. If one of our X5World members is mentally unstable and kills themself because of it, that is not our fault. |
Sadly, a Mom from down the street was in on the creation of the fake boyfriend account.
