12 year old kills his 1 year old sibling...but there is more to this IMO.

First off why was a 12 year old baby-sitting a 10 year old and 1 year old? Sounds like way too much responsibility for a 12 year old child IMO and obviously he couldn't handle it.

I was nervous about letting a 15 year old watch my 1 year old for 3 hours for crying out loud.

The parents should be held 100% responsible!

Sad indeed. Its a parents worst nightmare. In this case you are right IMO what the hell were they thinking. My wife and I a few years ago started interviewing grad students at a local college for babysitting and it has worked out great...once we got a few they introduced us to some very trustworthy friends and now we have a stable of responsible babysitters for our kids (7 and 4) when ever we need them. How much do you guys pay an hour for sitting?

We've been thinking about an au pair but i can't seem to find one old and fat enuff that the wife feels comfortable with
