that's really bad....brand new models...not only new cars...

:(

imagine how many pre-orderers will be upset at the added wait time!

vinuneuro 01-15-2008 10:36 PM

Hopefully they will have to wait. That way they can know ahead of time that their car got banged up and can cancel.

Some of these were supposed to be demos for dealers.

I found this article on another forum and it explains the details a little better.

The cargo ship Courage, operated by Wallenius Lines, encountered rough seas in the Atlantic before arriving at port. Vehicles in one of the ship’s cargo holds were ripped from their lashings during the storm, hurtling cars into one another. In total, about 470 BMWs were damaged, roughly 120 of which are a total loss
That's really bad, believe me I know what storms can do sometimes...and I saw lots of these accidents here....the ugliest thing that I never saw this happenning to BMWs :)

It's not uncommon for cars to experience some sort of damage prior to being sold. I'm sure some of us have or have had brand new cars that had beer repaired but we never knew. If I were to recieve one of these 350 cars that were damaged and repaired, it would bother me if I knew it, however, the simple fact is that they'll be repaired up to all spects and likely the new owners won't know or be in the slightest bothered. (as long as they don't find out).

Not as bad as the ship that sank with 3,000 new luxury cars including BMWs on board in the English Channel.

yeah sure...accidents happen and cars can be reproduced or paid by insurance companies....but people can't!

so that'a why safety comes first...I have family members who works and have investments in shipping and cargo ships and seriously sometimes it becomes some kind of disaster!

Have a safe life & drive guyz!
