Can they do that? Sell repaired vehicles as new?
|
I feel bad for whoever buy those repaired. All the ones in the pics have nasty damage, body/frame and suspension.

I wonder what happened, cargo ships just don't tip...I googled it but only came up with links to Bimmerfest and the site that True got this from.

YES! ALL CAR COMPANIES DO THAT ALL THE TIME!
CONSUMERS WILL NEVER KNOW! |
There is a gov law that allows new cars to be repaired and not disclosed to the buyer if the damage is below a certain percentage (I think 2% but don't hold me to that).
There are a LOT of new BMWs that get minor repairs done when they arrive at the VPC and even the dealer. Door dings, scratches, damaged wheels, etc. If you take a look at the european delivery section on bimmerfest you'll see a lots of posts about cars that were damaged in transit. I would almost guarantee you the cars in those pics will never be repaired and they are talking about the ones that received minor damage. Quote:

NOOOO!!!! Don't crush them! Can you imagine the sick engine swaps from the new M3s. What a waste :(
|
70 cars are total damage. Rest will be fixed and sold as new. The shipping company's insurance will bear the cost.
