That skidpad grip is amazing for a relatively rear-drive car.......that's Mitsu Evo and Lotus Elise territory. I'm not sure about the 161mph top end though.....I thought they were dialed back to 155?

In the time it takes my X3 gets to 60, the M3 can get to 100.

That 0-60 sure beats the worry of "oh a 335 will be just as quick". ;)

X5Jay 02-05-2008 05:03 PM

...but the 335 could be just as quick with not too much tweaking...

Let's please not start that....factory floor :)

"Well if I took my Honda Civic and spent half as much as the M cost..."

I can't wait to get a ride in the M3. The E46 M3 was amazing in my book, especially that inline-6 rasp. I hope the new chassis and V8 haven't made it something like the regular E90/92 3-series, which are amazingly capable machines but terribly boring.

Just ribbin' ya buddy... I'd much prefer an M3 over the 335 I have on order if only I could afford the extra dough... ;)

I thought I remember #s like 4.8 or something higher than that.....were those estimates?

Yes, these are actual test results.

That is blazing!

I knew the test results would be under BMW's estimate. Wasn't the old e46 M3's 0-60 about 4.8 seconds. You knew the e92 M3 V8 would have to do better than the old one.
