I just got back from my fist visit to the PI and would honestly be scared to drive my X5 out there. Most drivers are super aggressive and rules of the road are followed differently than here in the states.
Although it seem like mad chaos, I must admit I did not see one accident nor one incident of road rage. The honking of the horn is a courtesy honk out there with no attitude behind it.

Yup, nothing compared to the US. We are trying our best to put some order on the roads. First is to get those motorcycles to stick to their own lane...Many accidents in Manila are caused by motorcycles weaving left and right along the major highways...

I'm sure a lot of other places are wild too. Like China. Some areas in the city you make left turns from the far RIGHT lanes. Yes, its at a traffic light/traffic cop but imagine finding that out when you're in the far left lane. LOL.

I also experienced in China:

- people going down one-way streets
- 3 lanes become 5 lanes or however many traffic makes it
- highway driving and passing on the shoulder

If you want to drive in China, you better be a good, aggressive driver.

Also, still have the X. Here's how she is today.

Actually I replaced my E46 with X5 and I replaced the X5 with Chevy Trailblazer SS. Although the love X5 still, I am having a great time with my SS as well. It has 6.0 V8 engine @ almost 400HP. here is the pic:
