Hotel Recommendations in NYC ?
 

I'm planning on taking a vacation for a few days with the wife, kid and my sister and her friend to New York in about a few months. I haven't been there for almost 10 years and I was wonder if anyone had any hotel recommendations ?

Check out Morgan's Hotel. That's where I say when I have to go there for business. It's in midtown manhattan and it's very reasonably priced.

It's hard to tell someone where to stay if we're not sure what they want to spend.

or what type of hotel they're looking for... especially in NYC.

There's a lot of expensive hotels in NYC. I remember how shocked I used to be when I came to visit NYC on business while I still lived in San Francisco.

I occasionally go into NYC for a couple of nights with my family so we can get the "city experience". Two strong recommendations:
1. make your reservation as far in advance that you can because the hotels often fill up! I have associates visiting from other areas and the travel agents often have to call around like crazy to try to find a room if it's less than 2-3 weeks notice. I've had associates stay in rooms costing $600 per night because there was absolutely nothing cheaper that could be found...
2. stay in a hotel in the mid-town area

A hotel that is acceptable and is not too expensive is the Shelburne Murray Hill.

anywhere from $400 for standard room $1500 for a suite
