Actually that is an Aussie (Holden) built car thats based on the Monaro. Vauxhaul just puts their badge on it in the UK.

GM USA thought they'd make it better by softening up the suspension and basicly making it into just another GM car :(

I've only seen one of those cars over here with that grill/front end and it was a LHD test mule.

There's one in my neighborhood. Don't care for the looks of it much.

0-60 in 5.8? I would expect a lower number with that much torque and hp. Anyone care to explain this one? Crappy driver perhaps?

My American car will leave you standing still, is quite comfy, and happens to actually look OK inside.

That can't be right

That car should do 4.8 at worst. That must be a misprint.

Sad but true

Nobody contest that your car is fast and confy  , yours is maybe reliable, but that will be an exception, you'll meet your car when it's time to get a new one.
The resale value really sucks.. :dunno:

I never said I didn't like my X5 either. These generalizations are ridiculous, though. My car's resale 1 year after I bought it I'm sure isn't so good. I'm sure a couple of years from it will be fine enough. And, after a year, I haven't any problems, other than replacing the idiotic OEM runflat tires.

Having owned BMW's for the past 15 years, I have no problem with my car choice this time around (BTW - not a GTO), except for when I pine for a SUV to haul crap around, but I'd have that with any car.

I will say this though, dealer service and roadside assist from Cadillac, at least here in my area, makes BMW look like Pontiac. The BMW people just plain sucked, which really annoyed me. The Cadillac people have been incredible.

:withstupi GM can -- and DOES on occasion -- build some exceptional cars! The C6 is one good example. I happen to like the new caddies. They are sporty, luxurious, and fast. They've done a great job in the last few years, and I must say, they are worth giving a serious look. I'd consider a Caddy before I'd consider a Lexus, to be honest.

I shouldn't have gotten baited into this, but the All American Cars are Crap line is a little too vague for my likes. Before I bought this caddy, I said that I wshed a serious American car would come out to compete. I'm just glad they finally did.

As I tell people - it ain't perfect, but it gets me to work and back.

I agree... Look at the new Mustang, the Charger, the 300, the upcoming Solstice, and that one from Saturn (the name escapes me), and yes, even the GTO. I have not owned a domestic car in years, but I'm rooting for the Big Three.
