So when the libs gave the same answer 5 years ago, they were wrong? It's like saying that computers next year will be faster and cheaper so I'll wait to buy one. You gotta jump in some time, why not now?

:iagree: , but five years ago gas was at $1.43 per gallon, and oil was trading between $30 and $40 a barrel.

Either way, I'm for off shore drilling, I'm for Alaska drilling, I'm for more refineries and eased EPA restrictions.

Well ten years ago Toyota started working on the Prius while Ford and GM were content to "keep on trucking". Which companies are in trouble now?

I don't care whether McCain, Bush or Obama are pandering- that's what politicians do. But opening it up now is a good idea and the longer we wait the worse off we'll be.

There's a reason the current congress consistently rates ten points worse than Bush and at their lowest point in history- they haven't done sh*t, much less expressed any foresight or resolve when it comes to doing what's best for our country. If I were a Democrat I'd jump on the Bush/McCain proposals and one up them- make them part of a comprehensive energy policy that helps in the short term and plans for the long. But I guess it's easier for Pelosi, Reid and friends to sit around blaming Bush for everything rather than come up with a solution.

I've never been more ashamed to be a Democrat.

Actually, Toyota's sales are dipping as a result of over dependance on the US market and US dollar value.

Want to be ashamed to be a democrat, consider this...in 2007 "I will not take private funds, we need a generally funded election"....in 2008 "I will take private funds"...GO OBAMA.

I wouldn't vote for Obama if you paid me. I already voted for Jimmy Carter once- and Obama promises to be far worse.

My bet is they'll stall any legislation until after the election.

I agree, sad but true.

If you got it, spend it! The govt can take back the 3 dollar campaign contribution designated for general election funding and put it back into the economy where it is needed.

The issue here is McCain knows that Obama has the ability to outspend him 2 to 1 in the general election. We've heard that complaint before. I wonder if any other presidential nominee ever had more in private contributions than the general funded election offered?

BTW, love the revolving Big Oil logos.

I thought you said that gas prices were effect by refinery output and that Bush was a jerk when he tried to get the Saudis to increase production, how is this different?

I think the question is the change of position from a year ago, once he learned how much he could make and do the "I'll just outspend you approach".

I'll be curious to hear from the talking heads on the topic.
