I would much rather have a Vete than the latest jap car that will be a has been within two years.

I'm just saying you're paying more for the power. I'd agree, racing those 3 against each other would be great. |
Funny how the vette guys always satisfy themselves on the "bargain" mentality if u want... Certainly doesn't look exotic but but the thing is pretty impressive from a technological point of view -- the engineering that went into that thing is awesome. Corvettes are a different animal, I wouldn't ever knock a car that puts out 638HP, has a dry sump system, has ice cold air, and can still be a daily driver. Best of all, its freakin AMERICAN
Is it faster round the ring than a ACR viper ... probably not but magazine comparisons like below aren't going to mean much because the ACR comes with stickier tires (PS Cups) than the ZR1 (PS2s). http://blogs.motortrend.com/6255970/...acr/index.html "The Corvette Z06, for all of its virtues, cannot duplicate the ACR’s electrifying race-car moves (we’ll see if the new ZR1 can defend its little brother’s honor). Nissan GT-R? Forget it: The Viper ACR will leave its solenoids and software bugged out by rubber dust. Porsche GT-2? Getting warmer, but Porsche’s masterpiece (at twice the Dodge’s $98,110 price) plays by Marquis of Queensberry rules. The ACR is strictly UFC. Dare to get in the ring with it, dude, and you’re going to get pummeled" But like i said GM does have great marketing and that sells cars |
btw if a see a zr1 and he wants to play i'm game whenever... My generation 4 viper with headers has 40 more HP and weighs less..if the zr1 takes me the driver will get a smile and thumbs up from me.... both these cars are way ahead of the gtr (except for that darn back seat-lol)

The ZR-1 is basically the top of the line Vette right? Not that much faster than the base GT-R. That's a 638hp car not much faster than a 480hp one..go chassis superiority! You guys should wait for the GT-R V-Spec. :)
Btw, the ZR-1 uses a roots-type supercharger, ie. it'll suffer from massive heatsoak when the laps start adding up. |

hmmm seems like you use the cost analysis yourself in your reply, if it's not a factor, why quote MT that the GT-2 is 2x the viper's cost? I have no problem with Vipers, I actually like them, it's their owners that *sometimes* need a good troutslap. That being said, my original post said nothing of cost, nor did it compare it to any other car. Wagner took the discussion down that road... which is not to say it was a bad thing, it was a normal part of the discussion. I don't understand your replies regarding marketing. The ZR1 ran a fast lap of the ring. Any manufacturer is entitled to do so, and many do. What's your point here? |

strange rebuttal. |

The GT-R appears to be a great numbers car, but I can't get past the looks and Nissan badge (at that price) and soccerjunky's Viper is bad ass, but I personally prefer the Vette...holy sh!t. Did I just say I would choose the Vette? Hell has frozen over. |
