Yeah I think I will ask around, he seems fine for the time being, the yellow pages really wouldn't tell me what kind of vet they are, kind of like a doctor, you have to be really picky

Could be kennel cough! Did you leave your dog in a kennel recently, or have your dog near a dog that was recenlty in a kennel?

I'm sure you can find local vet reviews on the internet...

Just type in your area, vet, reviews...

If I could find an exterminator that way, I'm sure you can find a vet that way...

Small airway disease (bronchospasm), collapsed trachea (particularly prevalent in small breeds), if necessary get a consult with an internist who should perform baseline bloods, thoracic rads, and if required a tracheal scope with an aspirate for cytology + culture.

Greeattt, another small minded individual.
My lil guy is a Pit Cross, 100# and he is one of the most well respected dogs at our park in Santa Fe. (75 acres of open space)
He has been attacked 4 times by poorly raised and unsocialized males who felt they were gonna (incorrectly) be the boss. The dogs in question were a Poodle, Lab Cross, Great Pyrenees and a Boerboel. You need to get past the dog and realize the problem lies with the OWNER. Breed is irrelevant.
Case in point- M. Vicks pits have all been rehabilitated except for 3! 1 was ill beyond repair and 2 were not open to re-training. 41 successful rehabs. Go to www.nytimes.com and search Michael Vick for the article.
Please open your mind and your eyes to facts and stop inflicting your small minded ideals on others.
