Actually that's not true. That was a " theory" by a reviewer in his blog and has since been denied by VZW.

There is a new iPhone app which allows you to type email using a landscape mode keyboard with larger keys.

I'm pretty sure it was free and is called BigKeyMail

Works great and takes care of one of my gripes with the iPhone.

This BB won't do well in the consumer market like the others, and the iPhone will stay there. I don't see much changing.

Faster email delivery and sending.
Word, Exceo and Powerpoint editing capabilities.
Better bluetooth.
Less expensive.
RIM supporting it.
