Blackberry Storm
http://www.time.com/time/business/ar...847791,00.html
The BlackBerry Storm, which goes on sale later this year, is a direct competitor to Apple's iPhone 3G and T-Mobile's G1 "Google Phone". |

If this happened 2 years ago I'd be impressed. Blackberry has had a tough time with the consumer market and has neglected to address it until Apple did. Now they are releasing a copy of the iphone?

If AT&T Pisses me off enough, there might be one of those in my future, but I would be much happier if their exclusive with Apple ran out and I could get T-Mobile with the next gen of iPhone.

Finally something I can get on T-Nowhere!!!

Ok,
So let me get this straight, RIM (Blackberry) in an effort to win Apple Iphone type customers, takes the one feature that most everyone I have spoken to hates about their iphone (lack of a qwerty keyboard) and copies it. See this is why we live in the world we live in. Engineering departments just don't get it. Don't give us the same thing we already have and repackage it with lesser branding. If you want to win our business, figure out what it is that the customer base is not happy and improve it, rather than replicate it. And while there may be a small percentage of people that like having an Iphone without a keypad, based on my conversations of Iphone owners and potential iPhone owners, they are the minority not the majority. The best of both worlds is a PDA that looks like an Iphone, browses like an Iphone, has apps and integration like an Iphone, syncs with a MAC like an iPhone.. But has a decent keyboard and better functions like SEARCH, COMBINED EMAIL, CUT AND PASTE, etc. |

The whole "no keyboard" thing---
I can't type on a real qwerty keyboard to save my life on a phone, the keys are just too small. The iPhone, I can't do it as easily without thinking about it... which doesn't work when texting when you aren't supposed to be (in class, driving...) my old pearl I liked, but like the iPhone, it won't let you cuss in a text. I can't tell you many people think im "ducking" insane |
