It's impossible to know how low it will go - there is no recent historical way to predict the future. Smart guys like Warren Buffett went back in a few months ago and his fund is now at it's lowest ever, something like 71k I think. He knows the market, maybe we are there now... I'm not ready, going to take my non 401k money and keep it in CDs. I want to be able to continue to sleep at night with my nest egg.

6830 and counting down.

And we all thought that GM qtrly loss was a laugher...
AIG loses $62 Billion last qtr. They "make" good stuff though: some insurance, and a truckload of CDSs, securitized crap sandwiches, and on and on and... No Sweat: another $30 Billion waiting in the wings for them, courtesy of the non-stop printing presses vis a vis us, the taxpayers. I'm guessing 6K or, maybe even 5500, in the next few weeks/months, before the carnage is over. It may be a long time, Boys&Girls, before happy days are here again. |
It's getting scary now. 6800 is insane.

Getting very tired of looking at this chart.

I fear that business will have nothing to look forward to short, mid, long term till we change from a democratic led congress.

The only problem is that I don't see the catalyst to move the market up. Earnings are a joke. The gov and the fed are bailing banks every day. Hopefully the market turns at one point thought I doubt we'll see any sustained rally.
if you trade stocks look into Oct SKF under $100 puts. Time decay will kill that etf. Now it trades around 195 |
