To all those who were screaming about being attacked by Al-Queda on 9/11/01, how come you weren't screaming about the high murder rates in most major US cities. Far more people were murdered by Americans in the United States in 2001 than by Al-Queda on 9/11. So I guess if people weren't complaining about the high murder rate and out protesting about that, then they have no right to complain about the 9/11 attacks? I think people of any country will be more upset over murder by intruders than murder by their own countrymen. Iraqis are no different than Americans in this sense. ;) It amazes me at the inability of so many people who participate in these discussions to put themselves in someone else's shoes. |

I know it is bad, but that was the first thing I thought about when I heard this story. Political implications came second. |

I agree with you. It is difficult to know what it's like not
to have health insurance unless you get really sick and don't have it........;) Quote:

Being the somewhat resident Muslim/Arab/Palestinian/American on this forum, I would like to say:
Toda Raba/Thank you to pski215 and LeMansX5 With regard to the incident, here is my takeaway: 1. Mr. Bush handled it well 2. The reporter was irresponsible on many levels - He verbally disrespected and physically attacked his Prime Minister’s guest and by doing that he disrespected his Prime minister. That is big deal in the Arab world which takes pride in hospitality - He disrespected his profession which allowed him the access in the first place - He did a disservice to his fellow reporters by behaving that way 3. The reaction: - Those wants to pile on Bush see it as an opportunity to pile on some more. - Those who don’t like Arabs will see as an opportunity to not like Arabs even more - My reaction was: Oh Sh*t, here we go again… followed by Thank God it did not Land! 4. There is an undeniable comical aspect as being highlighted throughout the late night talk shows! Just my $0.02 |
I would have my security guys go and kick the sh** out of the shoe thrower![/quote]
Whats makes you think they did not? God knows what they did to this man. Remember EXTRAORDINARY RENDITION? Abu khreib prison cases? |
^^ He deserved whatever he got, IMO. If you a re a grown ass person and don't realize that attacking the President of the United Staes on any level is going to result in an ass whooping, jail time, a huge fine, being on the FBI list for the rest of your life and so on, then you are an idiot.
There are just things that you don't do in this world, and that was one of them. |

If I were in say, Iran and I wasn't happy with Ahmadinejad the last thing I would do is attack him. You know why? Because I have some common sense and who knows what they would do to me if I did something to him. Why do people stand up for idiots who deserve what they have coming to them? Obviously, this reporter had no common sense at all and he deserved every bit of what he got. |
