actually the screen is pretty easy to swap out if you don't mind opening it. If you take your time they're quite easy to open.

Where can I get the replacement screen?

LCD touchscreen glass digitizer OR

Just the outer glass lens replacement?

If you have the 3G, it is one. The glass is glued to the screen. For the 1st gen Iphone, Idk sorry...

I have a screen issue with my first gen iPhone. The top half-inch of the screen is non-responsive. I asked someone at the Apple Store and they said it would cost more to replace than it's worth. They suggested just getting a new 3g iPhone for $199. I think the screen is the most expensive part of the phone, and unfortunately probably a total loss if the screen is gone. :dunno:
