Thanks! Two excellent resources.

I've got a VZW Curve 8330 and love it.It actually keeps me from needing a Laptop.I do everything from my BB.I travel all over the SE US and very rarely have service issues. You really need to spend some time at Crackberry.com.The best resource IMO for anything related to the BB world.I just loaded a new OS on my Curve last night.Picked up a massive amount of new System Memory (which you must actively manage on the Curve). I have alot of Apps on my phone which chew up system memory.I regularly upgrade the OS as they come out from the Carriers. Each successive OS is better and tighter written and produces more free system memory.I like the trackball on the Curve....I can get to almost any application on the phone w/ one hand......great for as many miles as I drive.I'm just not going to try and type and drive...just not worth it in my opinion.Great phone on a great network!!! Thanks! PalBay

Someone emailed me a jpg pic, and I can't seem to open it on the BB. Suggestions?

Once the email w/ the pic is opened.... and you have highlighted the attachment....by using trackball, hit the Menu Key (one w/ berries on it) and it should have line that says....open attachment. Mash...good ole southern term...I'm originally from LA...Lower Alabama....the trackball and the attachment should open. Thanks! PalBay

A) There is NOTHING to apologize for about being from LA----so am I!!!
B)When I try to open the jpg file, I am told it can't do so. A quick search on the web tells me that this is apparently common when you are running the BB independently (ie, not as a business phone with company server, etc). I don't have BIS running on the corporate network to do this stuff for me; it has to open natively.

What part of LA??? I grew up in Mobile and went to college at the Univ of Southern MS and now live in SC...I don't stand a chance......:D:rofl: I have my BB set up through BIS w/ no big corporate support. You might need OS v4.5 or higher to open attachments. You can go to Options-About and it will tell you the OS your phone is running.Even w/ OS 4.3 which my Curve shipped with...I'm pretty sure I could open jpeg pic's from day one???Let me know how it goes!! Thanks! PalBay

I grew up about 2 counties northeast of you, and went to college at USA. Live in P'cola now.

I just got the BB Curve, and it has the latest updated OS (4.5.0.131). Really annoying. :(

Yes, didn't make a difference.

OK, I can view jpg's when I take pics with the camera phone and when I transfer one to the phone from the computer, but not when I get a pic via MMS text message. I really don't understand.
